DONATE A VEHICLE

Family Promise of Hendricks County believes that a necessary step toward long-term stability for our families is a reliable vehicle. “Vehicles to Success” has been established to help families experiencing homelessness get back on the road to sustainable stability.

Vehicles to Success

Vehicles

Family Promise accepts vehicles in good working condition with the intent that the donated vehicle be given directly to a qualified Family Promise family.  A qualified family must be active in the program; hold a valid driver’s license; have funds to register and license the vehicle, and insure the vehicle for one year. Families will be chosen at the discretion of the Executive Director.

Instead of trading in your vehicle, please donate it to a family in need through Family Promise!  We receive donated vehicles from families, car dealership and mechanics.  It changes a life!

Repairs

Family Promise works with local mechanics, like Big O Tire in Plainfield and Myers Garage in Lizton, to repair vehicles to keep struggling families on the road.  Preventing a breakdown is imperative in creating stability.

Driving Legal

Family Promise assists those in need with obtaining and reinstating  driver licenses, reinstatement and insurance to drive legally.  Driving illegally leads to additional fines, impounded cars and jail time creating additional hardship.

Impact

Jobs  With a vehicle, our families are able to get to work, have better job opportunities and the flexibility to work extra shifts and overtime.

Appointments  Families are able to go to the necessary medical and social service appointments to help keep their lives stable.

School Activities  One of the hardest part of not having reliable transportation for kids is missing out on after school activities.  We a vehicle they can play sports and join the band.

Quality of Life  Everyone is happier when they get to do things they enjoy.  A vehicle creates this opportunity!
