Family Promise of Hendricks County remains committed to ending and preventing homelessness in Hendricks County during this crisis.  This includes emergency housing, rent and utility assistance, along with many other stability services.

When the eviction moratorium ends, instead of evicting your tenants for their inability to pay, we encourage the following:

  1. Work with Family Promise. Call us directly or encourage your tenants to reach out.  We provide rent and utility assistance to Hendricks County residents.  This financial assistance is coupled with ongoing support services to create or maintain stability.
  2. Please understand that not all tenants will qualify for unemployment or stimulus funds. They are going to need more time to pay their rent or assistance from Family Promise.  Please establish a payment plan for the next several months to allow your tenants to catch up as we all go back to work.
  3. It is very likely that your tenant will receive Family Promise rent assistance faster than waiting on evictions hearings in our backlogged courts. We will all win – you should be paid and homelessness is prevented.

Our community needs everyone to remain housed.  Our children need this stability and you have the ability to maintain this for struggling families.  However, we understand that you also have bills to pay and mortgage payments to make on these rentals.  Please work with us, instead of evicting.

Please feel free to reach out to us directly or provide our contact information to your tenant.  We would like to drop off our resource cards for your tenants.  Please let us know the best way to provide these cards to you.
